Happy Nurse Practitioner Week! (Nov 11-17)

Happy Nurse Practitioner Week, everyone! We're nearing the end of the week, but wanted to pop in and provide some fun facts you can share with your friends, family, loved ones, anyone! Although nurse practitioners have been around for a very long time, many people still don't know what NPs do and what our role is in healthcare. (Heck, sometimes I find myself stumbling over words trying to describe what sets our role apart from others and how we fit into the medical team in providing collaborative, holistic patient care).

Nurse practitioners...

  • are healthcare providers who offer high-quality, cost-effective, patient-centered healthcare in primary, acute, and specialty health care settings

  • have the ability to diagnose, treat, and manage patients’ overall care

  • are unique in that they focus on health promotion, disease prevention, and health education

  • are more than healthcare providers; they are mentors, educators, researchers, and administrators who are involved in professional organizations and health policy activities in order to advocate for your healthcare needs.

NPs impact lives, one patient at a time!

Have a great weekend, everyone! For all those in California, my home state - stay safe in those crazy air conditions due to the fires. Purchase air filters, wear masks. Love your lungs and protect them as well as you can!

Sincerely,

Meagan

Show me some love!
