Third time's a charm!

I CANNOT believe the news I am about to tell y'all... but I was accepted into UPenn's BSN/MSN program for their Women's Health/Gender Related Nurse Practitioner program!!! I was already incredibly excited that I was accepted into Columbia's program, but to be accepted into ANOTHER prestigious school, was seriously the unexpected cherry on top. I admit, I felt quite underqualified to be accepted into UPenn's program. However, I am so grateful to have been chosen among hundreds of applicants. I definitely underestimate myself, and should give myself some more credit.

Welp. Here I am with a dilemma now. I am now debating between Columbia's MDE/DNP program vs UPenn's BSN/MSN program. On one hand, Columbia's MDE/DNP (~3.5 years) will offer me a doctorate in nursing practice, a degree that will eventually become the standard degree in order to practice as a nurse practitioner. I have read several forums and discussions on this, and STILL can't decide whether this required DNP will even be required in certain states within the next 10-15 years. One the other hand, UPenn ranks #1 in the nation for their nursing program according to US News Report. They also have incredible extracurricular activities and staff/faculty support for their students. I have NO idea how I am going to choose... I guess I shall save my Columbia University vs UPenn post for another time. Just wanted to update you all with my good news!

So incredibly happy and confused at the same time (unintentionally kind of quoted lyrics from T.Swift's "22") .

Catch y'all later! (:

Sincerely,

Meagan
